大和皮革的技师松井和小山二人突然行踪不明。有迹象表明，二人曾一起加班后去喝酒。据前来收账的寿司店店员说，晚上9点左右，听到二人在大声争吵。现场检测出了少量血液反应，似乎发生了杀人案。搜查一课首先开始调查二人的身份背景。松井毕业于专门学校，最近刚和妻子分开，将寂寞倾诉给了酒吧女招待澄子。据说，他曾因澄子和小山发生过冲突。此外，小山毕业于大学，公司还送他去意大利留学，受到优待，这也引起了松井的嫉妒。还有目击者称，晚上10点左右，看到一个像松井的人出现在车站。推测松井趁门卫沉迷于职业摔跤比赛解说时实施了犯罪，然后逃离了公司。但他并未回家，似乎躲在了某个地方。另外，小山的尸体至今仍未找到。
